Meet Your Ignite Your S.H.I.N.E.® Team

IMG_8229

The Ignite Your S.H.I.N.E.® (IYS) Team works together to elevate you & your organization’s strengths & passions to create a place where all thrive. Everyone has challenges. Our diverse experiences allow us to support you in the best possible way!

We are a dynamic group of educators, who brings “the how” and “the why” to transform your environment through professional development that is:

  • highly interactive (models engaging instruction),
  • uses the collective wisdom in the room (we are all smarter together),
  • and is sustainable by you (even though we’d always love to be around!).

With an interactive approach, your strengths-based Professional Development could include a blend of a:

  • 90-minute FUNnote (experiential kickoff to get all on the same page),
  • a 4–6-hour FUNshop (way better than a WORKshop),
  • and ongoing small group work (where the real transformation happens).

Together, we ensure that your staff is inspired, your students are confident, and your organization is thriving when our time together is over.

Thousands of educators are exiting the field of education every year, exhausted and burnt out. Frustrated by this crisis that hurts our students, LaVonna set out on a worldwide mission to serve educators, authoring 8 books on brain research and engaging instruction, creating the Ignite Your S.H.I.N.E.® framework, and providing professional development for educators internationally. Her life’s passion is to empower educators like YOU to find the greatness within your students and the greatness within yourself so we can radically change the traditional approach on how to educate in order to best serve our students. As an elementary and secondary educator, keynote speaker, author, consultant and mom, she is here to serve you so you can effectively serve your students through the lens of brain research, social-emotional needs and the whole child!

My Educational Why is to guide and inspire others in showcasing their exceptionalities and greatness!

I’ve been a classroom teacher for 11 years, and in that time I’ve had the opportunity to teach grades 3 through 5. I’ve taught all subjects and have specialized in math and science, and this past year I taught a hybrid virtual and in-person class. I believe in leaving a piece of your soul and your love in what you do, and that is how I approach life and teaching.
