My Educational Why is to guide and inspire others in showcasing their exceptionalities and greatness!
I’ve been a classroom teacher for 11 years, and in that time I’ve had the opportunity to teach grades 3 through 5. I’ve taught all subjects and have specialized in math and science, and this past year I taught a hybrid virtual and in-person class. I believe in leaving a piece of your soul and your love in what you do, and that is how I approach life and teaching.
Naomi Church is an experienced educator, credentialed coach, author and skilled speaker. She served for almost 20 years as a professional development specialist, Math intervention specialist, RtI Coordinator, Instructional Coach, and teacher leader. Naomi is passionate about professional learning and building capacity in teachers and families to increase student success.
Tammy Musiowsky-Borneman is an elementary teacher at heart but has found great reward in her roles as a teacher coach, education consultant, and international education adviser. She provides teachers with support in prioritizing all the things that clutter teaching, so they can focus on meaningful teaching and learning. She has experience teaching and leading in Singapore, New York City, and Edmonton, Canada. Selected as an ASCD Emerging Leader in 2014, she is an active member of ASCD. Tammy participated in developing the ASCD Emerging Leaders Alumni Affiliate and is the Past-President of the organization. She has written several guest blogs for ASCD Inservice, Express, and EdWeek Teacher blog, and Achieve the Core. Topics include creating cultures of learning, student engagement strategies, and professional learning communities. Her first book, The Minimalist Teacher, co-written with colleague C.Y. LaRae Whitely is an educational consultant with over 30 years of experience in the field of education. Prior to retiring from the largest school district in Kentucky, 26th in the nation, she was a teacher, instructional coach, principal and Human Resources Specialist. LaRae has a passion for working with educators who aspire to take on leadership roles. She uses her positive attitude and energy to support school leadership in the building of school cultures that are inclusive, safe and supportive of adult and student learning.
Krista is an educator, fierce advocate for what is best for students, believer in a balance between academics and social-emotional learning, community service organizer, presenter, author, learner, and promoter of kindness. She has been an elementary principal for four years. Previously, she served as a middle school assistant principal and instructional support facilitator. She was also a middle school learning support teacher and ninth through twelfth grade emotional support teacher. Her goal for each day is that every student feels safe and welcome at school so that hey are able to achieve their full potential as learners and contributing members of the community. She strives to create an atmosphere where teachers are able to use their instructional talents to inspire all students to learn and grow in a supportive caring environment. In 2019, Krista co-authored her first book, “R.E.S.U.L.T.S. – Promoting Positive Behavior and Responsibility For Learning.” The book provides applicable strategies for teaching students to make positive choices, take necessary action, and promote growth academically and behaviorally. Krista’s Bachelor of Science in Education and certifications in elementary and special education are from Kutztown University, in Kutztown, Pennsylvania. Her Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and K-12 principal certification are from Immaculata University in Immaculata, Pennsylvania. She was recently accepted into Immaculata University’s Doctor of Education K-12 (Ed.D) program and will begin in the Fall of 2021. Krista enjoys spending time with her family and friends and keeping up with her sons and the many sporting, musical, and outreach events they are involved in.
Liesl Sisson is a K-12 principal in rural Wyoming. With 14 years in education, she has a background in mathematics, curriculum, and instructional coaching. Liesl is a 2013 Arch Coal Award winning teacher as well as being the National Foundation for the Improvement of Education Awardee for Wyoming. As a Pearson Global Fellow, Liesl was able to study the educational system in China and implement global education practices in her school and classroom. In 2019 she made the decision to leave the classroom and embark on her journey into educational leadership hoping to transform the day to day education her students receive. Liesl holds a MA in Mathematics from the University of Northern Colorado, an Educational Leadership endorsement, a Bachelor’s in Mathematics and a Bachelor’s in Secondary Education from the University of Wyoming (Go Pokes!).
Jodi Moskowitz is currently an Instructional Coach at a middle school in Fulton County. In this position she supports teachers in a 1:1 school. In addition she oversees professional learning initiatives at the school. Jodi has worked with the professional learning department at the district level, helping to create and teach courses for teachers throughout the county. Jodi also worked as a member of the National Faculty of the Buck Institute for Education PBLWorks as well as in partnership with other educational institutions like Nearpod and GoFormative to make learning come to life for students. In the past, she has been an elementary and middle school teacher, administrator, and is a National Board Certified Teacher.
